Grant recipients typically receive significant funding to apply toward new equipment.

The owner of this tractor received a $71,117 TERP grant toward the purchase of new equipment.

Qualifying Locations

Here in the Houston area, you must use your equipment at least 55% of the time in any of the following counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Orange and Waller.

Your Top 3 Construction Equipment Questions: Answered

With our construction specials in full swing this month, we asked our experts — Shawn Meinkowsky and Richard Potts — for your top three FAQ. Here’s what they said:

How much extra is a cab unit vs. a canopy unit?

Prices vary depending on the model, but are usually in the $4,000-$6,000 range.

What do I need to run a mulching attachment?

We recommend the John Deere 333G compact track loader with the severe-duty door and high-flow hydraulics. The forestry package is also recommended as a dealer-installed option for your safety.

Are these units keyless? How do I prevent theft?

Most units are keyless. Keyless-start units may be programmed with a three-to-five-digit owner code (plus multiple operator codes) to prevent theft. The owner code and/or operator codes can be changed by the owner at any time. The owner has the option to choose “Prompt for Lock,”, “Auto Lock – 5 minutes” or “Auto Lock – 60 minutes.” The owner can also disable the anti-theft feature at any time.

Bonus Question! What is the lift or load capacity of a John Deere CTL?

Tipping load/safe lift capacity varies by model, but typically is 10,570 pounds. Please tell us what jobs or tasks that you plan on using the machine for so that we can recommend a model with enough lift capacity to suit your needs.
